Dysphoria is a series dedicated to the unease I feel within my own body. Each painting tells its own story of discomfort that extends beyond outward appearances. This series is primarily in black and white as to eliminate the impact that color has on meaning. I wanted to reduce the focus to just the subject while opening the door for the viewer to gain their own conclusions and relationship with this series. Through body language and brush strokes, I hope that the viewer sees more than just nude portraiture.
